The Story
Susan Wyman founded Gunnison Gardens in 2012 to fulfill her vision of growing delicious, nutritious, and affordable food for her community.
She believes that local food production is key to creating a resilient and secure future in the Gunnison Valley—and the world.
You have a role to play too...
Support local agriculture!
Fresh Produce
At Gunnison Gardens, we know what you want—to feed your family healthy, tasty, local, and conscientiously farmed food! We want the same thing. The food we grow for you is always the food we eat ourselves.
Taste the difference local food can make by finding us at the following locations:
Gunnison Farmers Market—every Saturday morning from mid-June through October at the IOOF park at Main and Virginia.
Crested Butte South Farmers Market, Thursdays through the summer from 4:30-6.
New this year! Gunnison Gardens CSA, July-October. Contact us for details.
Fresh Eggs
Nothing compares to fresh farm eggs! The yolks themselves tell the story with a rich orange color you won't find in the supermarket.
At Gunnison Gardens, our laying hens are free to roam in grassy pastures where they feast on ample sources of nutritious, natural protein—insects and worms. Apart from that they eat only Western Colorado-grown non-GMO feed.
Most of all, they are loved! We treat our birds like members of the family. Get your eggs at the following locations:

Pasture-raised Chicken
At Gunnison Gardens we take pride in producing nutritious, delicious, pasture-raised chicken you can feel good about putting on your family's table. Never caged, our birds are free to wander our lush pastures and eat only high quality, non-GMO Western Colorado feed. We harvest with methods that are humane—for both animals and workers!

Plant Sales
Our best customers are also backyard gardeners! They know first-hand the joy of growing food just out the kitchen door.
To give your garden a boost, try planting the same seedlings we use at Gunnison Gardens. Every spring in our local greenhouse we start hundreds of hearty vegetable varieties that we know will thrive in our challenging climate.
